In these two images, I used Laruen sitting/standing upside down to give an interesting effect to her hair and force the perspective. I really like the results especially the lower photo, the tones and colors look nice and I like her hair and earring.

Gradient Maps
Here are some gradient maps. First i really liked the look of the color on the bokeh on this one so I decided to go blue and yellow
Next I used a gradient map and then layer masked the plane out.
Finnally the contrasty look of the blue and yellow on this looked interesting to me.

Theme Photos
In this photo I used a little fill light to brighten shadows and a gradient to make the sky deeper. It fits into the complexity side of my theme because it shows a complex relationship between the river and the rock.
In this photo I converted to black and white for the art show poster but I thought that the photo looked nice that way so I copyed the two leaves and pasted it twice more leaving one corner empty.

A Day in the Life of Apollo
In this image, I tried to visualized what my cat must see everyday. I knew where his favorite spots are so I attempted to focus on these areas. I used a small amout of color correction and contrast to bring out my image. One strength in this photo is the black backgrounds that tie the three images together. One weakness is the color noise in the right image; it may have been better to process them in black and white.

Artist Statement
I create art because it is a creative outlet for me. I am not a very good artist when it comes to drawing or painting but for some reason I have a stong attraction to photography. I am inspired by my friends or cool things I see, anything can be inspiring. I like to try and include things I am inspired by in my photos. I have done all photography so far, and obviously I would like to make photography during the semister.
The artist I have choosen to analyse is Peter Lik. He is a landscape photographer from South Western America. He uses a Hasselblad medium format digital camera and a Linhof film camera along with photoshop to edit the final images. I think that his "eye" for photography is amazing, his work is incredible. One of his most famous photos is called Ghost.
